Water Damaged Flooring in Carol Stream
As depicted in the Before Photo, accumulated water from a leak in this unoccupied Carol Stream home resulted in cupping of the hardwood flooring. Water also wicked up a section of the wall causing a non-salvageable condition. Our SERVPRO water damage specialists lifted and removed the planks for drying. We gutted only the affected drywall area to diminish expenses for the owner. The air movers and dehumidifiers have been removed after we checked with moisture meters and an infrared camera to verify the wetness was gone. The subfloor and supporting beams and joists were documented as normal levels of moisture content to satisfy the insurance claim. Reinstalling the planks, sanding down the cupped edges, and refinishing the surface completed the cost saving flooring efforts. A new sheet of drywall buttoned up the wall cavity and a taping and painting top off the job, "Like it never even happened." (630) 830-6236
