  1. Limit foot traffic in the affected areas or rooms to prevent spreading the soot damage.
  2. If electricity is off, remove all items from both refrigerator and freezer and leave doors open.
  3. Clean and protect chrome with light coating of petroleum jelly or oil.
  4. Wash houseplants on both sides of leaves.
  5. Do not attempt to clean walls or floors without contacting your SERVPRO Franchise Professional.
  6. Do not use any food products that are located near the source fire, heat or water.4
  7. Do not turn on ceiling fixtures if ceiling is wet. The wiring may be damaged. 
  8. Do not send garments to an ordinary dry cleaner. Improper cleaning may set smoke odor.
